On Our Needles: Jennifer’s Angel Sweater

Jennifer is currently making a shop sample using Oat Couture’s “Angel Sweater for Baby”, pattern # BB218.  This pattern features an easy “feather and fan” design for the bottom and sleeves of the sweater and a simple ridged design for the upper torso.

You can use fingering or DK weight for this pattern, which is in sizes 6 to 24 months.  Jennifer is using a beautiful royal blue in the Elsebeth Lavold “Silky Wool” DK yarn, which is knitting up beautifully.

The lower edges of this sweater are knitted in larger needles, graduating to smaller sizes as you go, which gives a little flare, or A-line shape to this garment – a very clever way to shape the sweater without having to change stitch numbers.  This is an excellent sweater for a little girl in your life, and Jennifer would definitely make this one again!
