We have gotten in a few new yarns this Summer. Schoppel has been coming up with a few very interesting and new yarns, plus a few fresh items from Dream in Color and Noro. Ready for pictures?
First up is some fun and inspiring Dream in Color sock yarn called Starry. Not only is it a great plied semi-solid, but it has sparkles! I do not know if it is best described by “Oooooooh” or “Yum”. I am related to the magpie though so I am definitely attracted to this one.
Schoppel, the folks who gave you the Crazy Zauberball, have been playing with yarns again. This one, called Gradient, is a semi-felted single in some long and fun colorways. It has been partially felted to prevent pilling, which can be a problem with the singles. We knit up a simple triangle shawl in the yarn to test it out, and we are pretty darn happy. Come on by and pet it!
The next yarn from Schoppel is Leinen Los, a 30/70 wool linen. This one intrigues the heck out of me. One of our gals is knitting a market bag out of it, but I want to see what it does in a garment, perhaps a vest. It comes in 4 natural colors. Suggested needle is anywhere from a 2 to a 6.
A number of people have asked for a DK weight Noro. Well, here it is! Kirara is a blend of wool, cotton, silk, and angora, in some great Noro colorways. It feels a bit softer than Kureuon, but not as soft as Silk Garden. I look forward to seeing it worked up.
Malabrigo Sock is not a new yarn for us, but this batch of colors is new, so I thought it fit here. Like always it is lovely, soft, and with great colorways. It really is hard no not take 2 of each home.
I hope you enjoyed the visual yarn tour. As you know, it is always more fun in person so that you can pet the yarn as well. We hope to see you soon.
