Mitten of the Month-belated

May 22, 2010

It was just pointed out to us that we have been neglecting to post our Mitten of the Month. Thank you so much for jogging our memory! Soooo, the May mitten of the Month is the Newfoundland Mitten, a free pattern available online. It is a mitten that has been knit in Newfoundland for years, and somone finally put it to paper. It is much easier than it looks, and very warm.

We have been having a lot of fun with this mitten knitting it with Lambs Pride Worsted as the background, and Noro Kureyon as the pattern, though it works great in two solid colors as well

M-M-M-Malabrigo!

May 15, 2010

We got a load of new Malabrigo, new colors of Malabirgo Lace, and a new yarn, Malabrigo Rasta.

Malabrigo Rasta is a superbulky that looks like some watercolorist took a brush and painted it. The colors are amazing. the photos do not do it justice, you will just have to stop in and see.

The Malabrigo Baby Merino Lace came in as well. Some of these we have carried before, some not, but they are definitely beautiful.

New Spring Yarns!

May 1, 2010

We have a few new yarns in the shop, and a few new colors of some old favorites. Where to begin?

Lace first. we have 5 delicious Spring colors of Ella Rae’s Lace Merino. This is a springy high-twist, very subtly varigated merino.

Plymouth has given us a soft Baby Lace Alpaca in a few deep, intense colors.

Schoeller + Stahl has come up with a fun addition to their Fortissima Socka line: Mexico Cotton Stretch. I am looking forward to getting my hands on this one!

We have a nice fingering cotton from Austerman. It is mercerized to be color-fast, and comes in a great assortment of colors.

Lastly, we have some new great colors from Sirdar in their Baby Bamboo, as well as new colors in Misti Alpaca’s Pima Cotton Silk. We are ready for your Summer knitting!
