FELTED MONKS SATCHEL CROCHET
Mondays, June 8, 15, & 22
5:30-7:30 pm
Everyone need just one more bag to carry their next project in, right? Well, here’s another one. This felted bag is the perfect size for craft projects, books, laptop computers, you name it. Simple construction, the color possibilities are unlimited, no sewing seams, and the handle is all part of the bag construction. This class will be the perfect mix of relaxing crocheting, with just enough challenge to keep you motivated. Crochet goes so fast you will be amazed how quickly this all comes together. Some knowledge of crochet is helpful, but not required. We will do beginning chain stitch; double crochet and single crochet seams.
Materials:  pattern, approximately 800 yards of worsted weight feltable wool (can be self-striping, multiple colors, or one color), crochet hook size J. Optional: buttons and or magnetic clasp

KNITTING 101
Wednesdays, June 3, 10, & 17
5:30-7:30 pm

Learn to knit while making this classic hat. You will learn to read a pattern, cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and sew a seam. Come join the fun!
Materials: Pattern provided by instructor, 14″ size US 8 needle, 3 1/2 ounces of worsted weight yarn, tapestry needle.
Cost: $30 + materials

SOCK INNOVATION
Thursdays, July 9, 16, 23 & 30
5-7 pm
Take your sock knitting to the next level with sock designer Cookie A’s fabulous new book Sock Innovation. For this class you may choose any of the fifteen innovative patterns in the book, which range in difficulty but are consistently stunning. We will also discuss sock design, construction and fit. Knitting socks is always fun, but Cookie A’s beautiful designs are truly addicting!
Prerequisites: you should have knit at least one pair of socks prior to taking this class.
Materials: Sock Innovation by Cookie A, yarn and needles for your selected sock pattern, tapestry needle

SEVEN THINGS THAT CAN “MAKE OR BREAK” A SWEATER
Saturdays, July 18, 25, August 1, 8 & 15 1-2 pm
Saturday, August 22, 1-3 pm
Take your knitting from homemade to handmade by learning the seven garment construction techniques that can “make or break” the look of your finished sweater. We will explore techniques from cast-on edge to button band by knitting a sample baby cardigan as we progress through the book. Beginner and experienced sweater knitters alike will take something away from this class.
Prerequisites: ability to cast on, knit and purl (Knitting 101)
Materials: Seven Things that can “Make or Break” a Sweater by Margaret E. Fisher, 440 yards worsted weight yarn, straight needles size US 5 & 7, 24″ circular needle size US 5, stitch holders, four 3/4″ buttons, tapestry needle
